Noies String Quartet originates from passion and necessity. The passion that brought us together is that for chamber music, for sharing and creating something through common experience.
At the same time, we reflect the contemporary need to rediscover and normalize the performance of works of female composers and composers that were marginalized throughout history and up to the present day.
We have therefore committed ourselves to researching and curating inclusive programs, combining lesser known compositions with the great masterpieces from the string quartet repertoire, creating new synapsis in an attempt to fill the gaps in the dominant narrative. We believe that shedding light on each of these pieces can deeply enrich the musical community, and intrigue and bring contemporary audiences closer together.
